Braised Chicken Hearts and Gizzards

Very tasty and tender. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
- Chicken hearts 20 oz
- Chicken gizzards 20 oz
- Onion 2 heads
- Carrot 1 piece
- Chicken Broth 15 fl oz
- Sour Cream 10 oz
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper a pinch
- Herbs 1 bunch
- Khmeli-suneli 2 teaspoons
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the hearts and gizzards separately in salted water.
Step 2
In a skillet, sauté the onion, sliced into half rings, and the carrot, grated on a coarse grater.
Step 3
Add the sautéed vegetables to the hearts and gizzards and braise for 15 minutes. Then add the broth and braise for another 10 minutes.
Step 4
Add the sour cream, salt, pepper, khmeli-suneli, and braise for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Sprinkle with chopped herbs on top and serve.
