Braised Cabbage with Prunes
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 1 head
- Onion 1 piece
- Prunes 5 oz
- Carrot 1 piece
- Tomato Paste 2 tablespoons
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Bay leaf 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the cabbage and finely shred it.
Step 2
Grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Pour vegetable oil into a hot skillet and add the shredded cabbage and carrot. Sauté for 3-4 minutes.
Step 3
Next, add the onion cut into large rings to the skillet and continue to braise over medium heat.
Step 4
Soak the prunes in boiling water for 10 minutes to soften them, then cut into quarters and add to the cabbage.
Step 5
Add salt, sugar, pepper, and tomato paste to taste. Mix everything and braise over medium heat for another 10-15 minutes.
