Braised cabbage with green onions
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 5 lbs
- Onion 1 piece
- Carrot 1 piece
- Tomato 1 piece
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Parsley ½ bunch
- Green onions ½ bunch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and carrot, and shred the cabbage. Sprinkle the cabbage with salt and massage it with your hands until it becomes slightly soft.
Step 2
In vegetable oil, sauté the onion and carrot, add the cabbage, cover with a lid, and braise on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally (if using a good pan, you can sauté everything without adding oil).
Step 3
Cut the tomato into strips and add it to the cabbage, season with salt (a little, if needed), pepper, mix well, and braise for another 15–20 minutes.
Step 4
Before serving, sprinkle with finely chopped parsley and green onions.
