Description

Braised green cabbage is delicious on its own. However, if you enrich it with all the ingredients listed in the recipe and add some strength with wheat flour, you'll have a fantastic, vibrant side dish for red meat, as well as a self-sufficient appetizer, served hot or cold.

Ingredients

  • Onion 1 piece
  • White Cabbage 20 oz
  • Vinegar essence ½ spoons
  • Sugar ½ spoons
  • Wheat Flour ½ spoons
  • Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Water ½ glasses
  • Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
  • Ground Cumin ½ spoons
  • Ground coriander ½ spoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Slice the onion into thin strips and shred the cabbage.

In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat half of the oil and sauté the onion until golden brown.

Add coriander and cumin, and sauté for 30 seconds.

Place the cabbage in a pot, cover with a lid, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Add tomato puree, vinegar, sugar, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover with a lid and simmer for another 10 minutes.

In a small saucepan, heat the remaining oil and sauté the flour for one minute.

When the cabbage is ready, add the flour that has been sautéed in oil, stir, and bring to a boil.
