Braised Brisket
Ingredients
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Beef chuck roast 10 lbs
- Ocean salt 1½ teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
- Onion 1½ kg
- Turnips 3 pieces
- Celery salt 2 bunches
- Bay leaf 4 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop 1 head of garlic and rub it into the meat.
Step 2
Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Take a skillet and layer the bottom with half-rings of onion, carrots, and celery. Place the meat on top. Put 2 bay leaves under the meat and the remaining 2 on top.
Step 4
Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 355°F for 4 hours.
Step 5
Let the meat 'rest' for 20 minutes. You can drizzle the remaining fat over the meat and vegetables. The vegetables can also be blended into a thick sauce.
Step 6
If serving the meat the next day, store it in the refrigerator. Take it out in advance to allow it to sit at room temperature.
Step 7
Reheat the meat for 45-60 minutes, occasionally basting with the juices. The meat should develop a delicious brown crust and be tender inside. Slice the meat thinly.
Step 8
Serve with any side dish of your choice. Enjoy your meal!
