Description
At first glance, 'borano' resembles a regular omelet, but due to the unique preparation method, it is essentially an egg and cheese pie.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 10 pieces
- Imeretian cheese 25 oz
- 3.2% Milk 5 fl oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 2
Add the grated cheese to the beaten eggs, mix well, and add salt if needed.
Step 3
Pour in the milk and vegetable oil, and mix until smooth.
Step 4
In a preheated skillet with a thick bottom and high sides, melt the butter. Pour in the egg and cheese mixture and cover with a lid.
Step 5
Place in a preheated oven at 140-320°F. Bake the 'borano' for 30-40 minutes.
Step 6
Ten minutes before it's done, remove the lid to create a delicious 'golden' crust.
Step 7
The 'borano' can be served either cold or warm. It pairs wonderfully with fresh herbs and red wine.
