Black and White Rice
Ingredients
- Water 30 fl oz
- Jasmine Rice 10 fl oz
- Lemon Zest 1 tablespoon
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- Coarse Salt ½ teaspoon
- Bay leaf ½ piece
- Wild rice 10 fl oz
- Young Spinach 5 oz
- Mushrooms 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the black and white rice separately.
Step 2
To prepare the white rice, soak the jasmine rice in water, add lemon zest, bay leaf, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil and cook on low heat until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes.
Step 3
To prepare the black rice, soak one cup of black rice in water and cook until the grains are tender and the water is fully absorbed, about 40 minutes.
Step 4
Then mix both types of rice, add spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and walnut oil to the pot. Season with salt to taste.
