Belarusian Draniki
Ingredients
- Salad Potatoes 10 oz
- Duck Fat 0 oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Garlic 1 clove
- Onion 0 oz
- Ocean salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Sour Cream to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash and peel the potatoes.
Step 2
Grate them on a coarse grater.
Step 3
Peel the onion.
Step 4
Grate the onion on a coarse grater and add it to the potatoes.
Step 5
Add pepper.
Step 6
Add salt.
Step 7
Add garlic, pressed through a garlic press.
Step 8
Mix well.
Step 9
Add the egg.
Step 10
Mix again. Drain any excess moisture.
Step 11
Melt the duck fat in a skillet over high heat.
Step 12
Form the draniki in the skillet and flatten them with a spatula.
Step 13
Once the bottom side is browned, flip and reduce the heat.
Step 14
Cover with a lid and fry for about 7 minutes over slightly below medium heat.
Step 15
Transfer to a plate and serve with sour cream.
