Beetroot burgers with feta herb sauce
Ingredients
- Onion 1 head
- Cumin Seeds 1 teaspoon
- Olive Oil to taste
- Beetroot 20 oz
- Canned chickpeas 15 oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Sesame Seeds 2 tablespoons
- Feta cheese 0 oz
- Dill 1 tablespoon
- Natural fat-free yogurt 5 oz
- Lettuce to taste
- Hamburger Buns 4 pieces
- Red Onion 1 head
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220°C. Sauté the onion and cumin seeds in olive oil for 5 minutes until soft.
Step 2
Combine in a blender with beetroot, chickpeas, egg, and half of the sesame seeds. Blend until smooth and season well with salt.
Step 3
Form 8 patties. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (The mixture should be slightly more moist than regular minced meat.)
Step 4
Sprinkle with the remaining sesame seeds. Bake for 30-40 minutes until firm and let cool for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Mix feta with herbs and yogurt until it reaches a sauce-like consistency, and season with salt.
Step 6
Assemble the burgers with buns, lettuce leaves, and red onion; serve with feta sauce.
