Beef Steaks with Pepper Sauce and Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- Marbled Beef 10 oz
- Cream 22% 5 oz
- Green peppercorns 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Worcestershire Sauce 1½ tablespoons
- Brandy 1 tablespoon
- Salad Potatoes 6 pieces
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the beef into steaks (not thin). Season to taste. Sear quickly in a hot skillet.
Step 2
For the pepper sauce, heat the cream in a small saucepan without bringing it to a boil. Add the peppercorns, Worcestershire sauce, and brandy (my husband added a little more :-) — a small cup). Keep on low heat for 2–5 minutes, then immediately pour into a sauceboat and serve with the steak.
Step 3
For the mashed potatoes, drain the cooked potatoes (by adding them to boiling water). Return the pot with the potatoes to low heat for a bit to dry them out, then add the butter and milk (right on the stove so the milk heats up immediately). Take a mixer and whip the potatoes, butter, and milk into a puree. When the puree reaches the desired fluffy consistency, turn off the mixer and serve on plates.
