Description

Beef Steaks with Mushroom Sauce and Blue Cheese

Ingredients

  • Steaks 2 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Butter 2 tablespoons
  • Onion 1 head
  • Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Fresh Mushrooms 10 oz
  • Chopped Sage Leaves 1 teaspoon
  • Brandy 2 tablespoons
  • Campbell's Beef Broth ½ cup
  • Blue Cheese ½ cup

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Season the steaks with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan, add the meat, and sear on high heat to your desired doneness on both sides (2-4 minutes per side for medium). Transfer the meat to a slightly warmed oven to keep warm or cover with foil.

Step 3

In the same pan, melt the butter, add the sliced onion, and sauté for 5 minutes until soft. Add the minced garlic and thyme and cook for another minute.

Step 4

Add the thinly sliced mushrooms and cook for 7-9 minutes until soft.

Step 5

Pour in the broth and brandy and let the liquid reduce by half.

Step 6

Remove from heat, stir in the crumbled cheese, and pour over the meat. Serve immediately.
