Beef Shashlik with Fried Onions and Tahini Garlic Sauce

Ingredients
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Meyer Lemon Juice ½ cup
- Coarse Salt 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil ¼ cup
- Ground Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
- Ground clove ½ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Onion 2 heads
- Veal Tenderloin 0 lbs
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the minced garlic, lemon juice, vegetable oil (reserve 1 tablespoon), salt, allspice, black pepper, and cinnamon.
Step 2
Place the meat cut into small pieces into the marinade, mix well, and refrigerate for 2 hours to overnight.
Step 3
Preheat the grill or barbecue.
Step 4
Cut each onion into 8 segments and carefully thread several pieces onto skewers. Brush with the reserved oil.
Step 5
Thread the meat onto the skewers as well.
Step 6
Grill the onions for about 12–15 minutes until soft and golden. Grill the meat for about 6 minutes for medium doneness.
Step 7
Place the onions and meat on a platter and serve with tahini sauce (see note).
