Beef Khachlama
Ingredients
- Beef 20 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Carrot 1 piece
- Onion 1 piece
- Garlic 1 clove
- Salad Potatoes 10 oz
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Herbs to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Clean the meat for khachlama from bones, membranes, and veins, and cut it into pieces the size of a matchbox. Season with salt, coat in ground pepper and meat spices.
Step 2
Chop the tomatoes and place half of them at the bottom of the pot as the first layer.
Step 3
Slice the onion into half-rings and place half of it as the next layer on top of the tomatoes.
Step 4
Cut the bell pepper into strips.
Step 5
Finely chop the herbs and place them on top of the vegetables.
Step 6
On top of the herbs, place the meat with spices and garlic. The garlic can be sliced to enhance its aroma.
Step 7
Next, layer the vegetables in reverse order (pepper, onion, and tomatoes). Pour water over everything. Simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours.
Step 8
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and add them to the pot. Add a little salt. Continue to simmer the vegetables with the meat for another 30 minutes, until the potatoes are cooked.
