  • Striploin steak 40 oz
  • Shimeji mushrooms 15 oz
  • Soy Sauce 400 teaspoons
  • Mirin 5 fl oz
  • Sake 80 teaspoons
  • Rice Vinegar for Sushi 0 fl oz
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Shichimi pepper a pinch
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

To make the barbecue soy sauce, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, rice vinegar, olive oil (10 ml), and shichimi pepper in a pot and place it over heat. Once it starts to boil, remove it from the heat.

Step 2

Season the meat and mushrooms with salt and pepper, then drizzle with olive oil.

Step 3

Grill the meat or cook it in a grill pan to your desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Cook the mushrooms on a grill or a grill pan.

Step 5

Arrange the meat and mushrooms on a plate, add the sauce, a couple of drops of olive oil, and optionally sprinkle the dish with sesame seeds.
