Description
Option 2: Pour sunflower oil into a pot, add mustard seeds, and heat on high. Add the rice. Sauté the rice until it becomes translucent, stirring constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom. Pour boiling water over the rice and cover with a lid. Add salt and a bay leaf. Then follow steps 3–5.

Step 1
Rinse the rice 3 to 7 times. Well-rinsed grains are the key to a successful result.
Step 2
In a heavy-bottomed pot, bring salted water to a boil, then add the rice.
Step 3
Next, cook for 4 minutes on high heat, 4 minutes on medium, and 4 minutes on low.
Step 4
Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit covered for 12 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the lid for 5 minutes. Stir thoroughly.
