  • Pearl barley 2 cups
  • Squid 10 oz
  • Onion 5 oz
  • Turnips 2 pieces
  • Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Rinse the prepared squid, cut into thin strips, and sauté in heated vegetable oil (25 ml) for 5 minutes.

Step 2

Peel, wash, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

Step 3

Peel, wash, finely chop the onion, and sauté it together with the carrots in heated vegetable oil for 2–3 minutes.

Step 4

Sort the barley, rinse, dry, toast, pour 3 cups of boiling water over it, and let it sit covered until it swells.

Step 5

Place the pot with the barley on low heat and cook the porridge covered until it becomes fluffy.

Step 6

Mix the cooked porridge with the squid and sautéed vegetables, season with salt, and stir.
