Baked Red Mullet
Ingredients
- Red mullet fillet 8 pieces
- Olive Oil 4 tablespoons
- Pistachios 0 oz
- Onion 1 piece
- Capers 2 tablespoons
- Raisins 0 oz
- Marinated cherries 15 pieces
- Pitted olives 0 oz
- Basil 1 bunch
- Mint to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the raisins in cold water and soak them in hot water. Leave for 15–20 minutes, then drain.
Step 2
Toast the nuts in a dry skillet. Peel and chop the onion. Rinse and dry the capers. Cut the tomatoes into quarters. Heat the skillet with oil and sauté the onion, then add the capers, nuts, raisins, and olives. Cook for 5–7 minutes, add the tomatoes, stir, and cover. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat. Remove from heat. Finely chop the basil and mint and add to the sauce.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Rinse and dry the fish. Place it in a baking dish, season with salt and pepper, and drizzle with oil. Top with the sauce. Bake for 5 minutes.
