Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Wash the potatoes, peel them, and slice them very thinly. Rinse the slices in cold water and dry them with a paper towel.

Step 2

Grease a deep baking dish with butter. Line the bottom and sides of the dish with potato slices. Fill the remaining space with layers of potatoes, salting, peppering, sprinkling with finely chopped parsley, and drizzling with melted butter between each layer. Cover with a lid and place the dish in a preheated oven at 390°F.

Step 3

When the potatoes settle, remove them from the oven and pour the remaining butter over them. After that, simmer the potatoes for another hour.

Step 4

After an hour, take the potatoes out of the oven, drain the excess butter, and then place the potatoes on a large plate by flipping the dish they were baked in. The top should have a crispy crust, and the shape should resemble a pie. You can sprinkle the dish with finely chopped parsley or dill before serving.
