Baked Mussels in Shells

Ingredients
- Mussels 12 pieces
- Sour Cream 1 tablespoon
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 2 tablespoons
- Lemon 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Clean the mussel shells and rinse them well.
Step 2
Then, cover them with water (the ratio of mussels to water is 1:2) and boil at a gentle simmer for 10–15 minutes until the shells open.
Step 3
Remove the cooked mussel meat, discard the byssus (the attaching organ), and one of the shell halves.
Step 4
Then rinse the mussel meat and place it back on the shell half, spread sour cream on top, and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Step 5
Arrange the prepared mussels on a baking tray, pour a little water into it, and place it in the oven.
Step 6
Serve the cooked mussels with a washed and dried lemon, sliced into thin wedges.
