Baked Dish with Small-Eyed Macrurus

Ingredients

  • Fillet of small-eyed hake 5 oz
  • Potato 2 pieces
  • Onion ½ pieces
  • Carrot ½ pieces
  • Salt 0 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 2 spoons
  • Butter 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 Image

Step 1

Cut the fish fillet into small pieces. Wash the potatoes, peel them, cut into quarters, and boil. Then drain the water and mash the potatoes with butter until you achieve a dry-like puree consistency. Slice the onion into thin strips, and grate the carrot on a fine grater.

Step 2

Sauté the onion and carrot in a skillet for 2–3 minutes (do not brown them too much, just cook until they are soft).

Step 3

Assemble the casserole in a ceramic dish: the first layer is half of the mashed potatoes, the second layer is onions and carrots, and the third layer is fish fillet. Cover the fish fillet with the remaining mashed potatoes and generously sprinkle grated cheese on top. Place the casserole in the oven for 30 minutes, baking at 340°F. Serve the dish hot, topped with a delicious cheesy crust.
