Vitebsk Barley Porridge
Ingredients
- Pearl barley 5 oz
- Salad Potatoes 4 pieces
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Salt to taste
- Parsley 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the rinsed barley until half-cooked, about 15 minutes.
Step 2
At the same time, cook the peeled potatoes until done.
Step 3
Mash the potatoes with a masher, as for mashed potatoes.
Step 4
In a clay pot, mix the potatoes with the barley, milk, and 25 grams of butter.
Step 5
Place in a preheated oven and bake at 150–390°F for 30 minutes.
Step 6
Remove from the oven, add the remaining butter on top, and garnish with a few sprigs of parsley.
