Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Sugar 0 oz
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Low-fat lactose-free milk 10 fl oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil 10 fl oz
- Margarine 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix kefir with sugar, baking soda, and egg, then add sunflower oil (1 tablespoon) and melted margarine. Sift the flour and add it as well.
Step 2
The dough should be soft and fluffy, slightly sticky to the hands, but definitely not stiff; otherwise, the verguny will not be fluffy and airy. Cover the dough and let it rest for 25–30 minutes.
Step 3
In a thick-bottomed pot or frying pan, pour in the sunflower oil and heat it well. Shape the dough into diamonds and make a cut in the middle, threading one end of the diamond through the hole to create knots.
Step 4
Fry in hot oil, constantly turning, for one to two minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
