Ingredients

  • Breadcrumbs 10 oz
  • Puff Pastry 15 oz
  • Onion 1 head
  • 10% cream 3 tablespoons
  • Cheshire Cheese 10 oz
  • Chopped Sage Leaves 1 tablespoon
  • English Dry Mustard 1½ teaspoons
  • Cayenne Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated cheese, grated onion, cream, parsley, and mustard powder. Season with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly. The filling is ready.

Step 2

On a floured surface, roll out the pastry into a rectangle measuring 60x30 cm, and cut it into 3 strips. Divide the filling into 3 parts, shaping each into a sausage the same length as the pastry strip. Dust the filling with flour if it sticks to your hands.

Step 3

Brush the edge of the strip with beaten egg, wrap the pastry around the filling, and seal the edge. Turn the resulting roll over, press lightly, and cut it into rolls (three rolls will yield 36 rolls). Brush the rolls with beaten egg.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 430°F. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes. Allow to cool.
