Vanilla Cheese Pancakes with Homemade Berry Sauce
Breakfasts • Russian
Description
I will say right away, the sauce tastes very much like jelly. If you don't like it, omit the starch, add more berries, and less water.
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Dry Curd 10 oz
- Sugar 2½ tablespoons
- Vanilla extract to taste
- Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 4 tablespoons
- Oranges ¼ piece
- Water 0 fl oz
- Potato protein 1 teaspoon
- Frozen black currant puree 1 cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
To prepare the pancakes, lightly beat the egg with sugar (1.5 tablespoons) and vanilla using a fork. Add the cottage cheese and mix. Add the flour (2 tablespoons) with the baking powder and mix.
Step 2
Squeeze the juice from the orange and add it to the other ingredients. Mix well. At this stage, it's better to refrigerate the dough for half an hour to thicken, but this is not mandatory.
Step 3
With wet (!) hands, form balls from the dough and lightly coat them in the remaining flour. Heat a skillet and lightly (!) grease it with olive oil using a napkin. Place the pancakes in the skillet and fry until golden brown.
Step 4
To prepare the sauce, pour the berries with water (50 ml). Add sugar. Cook for a few minutes after boiling. Dissolve the starch in water (2 tablespoons) and, stirring constantly, add it to the berries. Bring to a boil.
