Description

Tzatziki can be enjoyed as a standalone dish with bread, used as a dip for sliced vegetables, or served as a sauce for meat and fish.

Ingredients

  • Coarse Salt 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumbers 5 oz
  • Dill 0 oz
  • Natural Yogurt 15 oz
  • Mint 0 oz
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Shallot 1 head
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Olive Oil 2 spoons
  • Paprika to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel the cucumbers and grate them on a coarse grater. Transfer to a sieve, mix with salt, and let it sit over a bowl for 10 minutes to drain excess liquid. Chop the herbs.

Step 2

Squeeze the cucumber shavings, transfer them to a bowl, add yogurt, herbs, lemon juice, crushed garlic, minced shallots, and black pepper. Mix well and, if needed, add salt. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.
