Tuna with Cream Cheese and Mint
Appetizers • European
Description
This is a very simple and very tasty appetizer that doesn't take much time to prepare and is always a hit. So, this appetizer doesn't require strict adherence to the recipe — you can vary the flavor to your liking. You don't need spoons or forks for this appetizer — you take half a carrot, dip it into the cream of tuna, cheese, and mint, and voilà, you bite into a piece of carrot with cream. And I have no doubt that you will enjoy it. Bon appétit.
Ingredients
- Semi-soft cream cheese 10 oz
- Fresh Mint 5 oz
- Carrot 10 pieces
- Lime Juice 0 fl oz
- Canned tuna in its own juice 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, place the cream cheese in a bowl and mash it with a fork; if the cheese is quite firm, it should be slightly thinned with heavy cream.
Step 2
Next, drain the liquid from the can of tuna, then add the tuna to the bowl with the cheese, mashing everything together with a fork and mixing well.
Step 3
Now for the most important part — take a lot of mint, about 2 medium bunches, but I always add a little more; quickly chop the mint finely and mix it with the cheese and tuna.
Step 4
Add salt and pepper to taste, and the juice of half a lime. Taste it; if the acidity is not noticeable, add more lime juice. Mix everything and transfer it to a prepared dish, garnishing with mint leaves on top.
Step 5
Wash the young carrots well, as we will not be peeling them, then cut them in half.
Step 6
For serving, you will need a large flat plate: place a small bowl with the tuna, cheese, and mint cream on it, and arrange the carrots alongside.
