Description
Tuna Pasta
Ingredients
- Salt to taste
- Canned tuna in its own juice 5 oz
- Gruyère cheese 0 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Spices to taste
- Sugar ½ spoons
- Dry White Wine 5 teaspoons
- Tomatoes 15 oz
- Garlic 1 clove
- Onion 1 piece
- Safflower Oil 4 spoons
- Pasta (corkscrew) 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour the pasta into a large pot of salted water, bring to a boil, and cook uncovered. Once the water comes to a rolling boil again, reduce the heat to maintain a gentle boil and cook for an additional 10–12 minutes. Drain in a large colander, rinse under cold water, and set aside.
Step 2
Heat sunflower oil in a pot. Add finely chopped onion and garlic, and cook over low heat, stirring, for 5 minutes until the onion becomes soft and translucent. Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook, mashing them with a spatula, for another 5–7 minutes. Then add wine, sugar, herbs, and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring, for another 15 minutes. Flake the tuna with a fork and grate the cheese.
Step 3
Add the pasta, butter, cheese, and tuna to the pot. Then mix well and serve immediately.
