Tostadas with Chicken and Grilled Onions

Ingredients

  • Cilantro to taste
  • Lime Juice 0 fl oz
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Coarse Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper ¼ teaspoon
  • Chicken fillet 4 pieces
  • Spanish onions 2 heads
  • Banana Leaves to taste
  • Tortillas 8 pieces
  • Tomatoes to taste
  • Avocado 1 piece
  • Sour Cream to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Step 2

Pound the chicken breasts with a mallet to about 1 cm thickness and place them in a plastic bag. Add lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well, seal tightly, and refrigerate.

Step 3

Place the tortillas on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil on top, season with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven until golden and crispy for about 10-12 minutes. Let cool.

Step 4

Preheat the grill.

Step 5

Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for 5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Let cool slightly and slice into strips.

Step 6

Slice the onions into rings and brush with olive oil. Place on the grill and cook for about 3 minutes until golden.

Step 7

Serve by layering lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, sliced avocado, chicken, onions, cilantro, and sour cream on the tortillas.
