
Tomato Sauce with Onion and Butter

Description
It is better to use tomatoes that have already been peeled. Also, it is better not to use garlic. This sauce pairs perfectly with ravioli or pasta and should be served hot or warm.
Ingredients
- Butter 0 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice 30 oz
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil leaves 0 oz
- Thyme 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Peel the onion but do not chop it.
Step 2
Peel the tomatoes and place them in the saucepan along with their juice.
Step 3
Add the onion.
Step 4
Heat the sauce, simmer for 45 minutes, stirring constantly and not allowing it to boil.
Step 5
10 minutes before the end of cooking, immerse a sprig of basil and thyme into the sauce. Then remove the herbs and the onion.
Step 6
Blend the finished sauce with an immersion blender. Add salt if necessary. Serve hot.
