
Tomato Sauce with Garlic

Description
Perfect for pizza, pasta, and as a base for Bolognese. 15 minutes of preparation and 45 minutes of cooking. Yields 4 cups of sauce (about 1 kg).
Ingredients
- Onion 10 oz
- Carrot 5 oz
- Garlic 0 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice 30 oz
- Olive Oil to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the onion, carrot, and garlic in a food processor.
Step 2
Add olive oil to a skillet and heat it. Add the mixture from the food processor and sauté for about four minutes (until the onion is golden).
Step 3
Add the tomatoes to the skillet with the vegetables. Simmer covered.
Step 4
Once ready, add salt and extra virgin olive oil to taste.
