Tomato sauce for pizza with basil and oregano
Ingredients
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic ½ head
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Passata Tomato Sauce 5 oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil leaves 1 teaspoon
- Dried Rosemary ½ teaspoon
- Bay leaf 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop the large onion, also mince or crush the garlic, and sauté in olive oil until the onion is golden (but do not brown it).
Step 2
Add the tomato paste and dilute with water to the consistency of ketchup.
Step 3
Add salt to taste, sugar, basil, oregano, and the bay leaf. In general, the amount of all ingredients can be adjusted to taste, but it's better to keep the ratio of basil to oregano at 2:1.
Step 4
Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
