  • Pumpkin 25 oz
  • Bacon 5 oz
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
  • Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Nutmeg a pinch
  • Fresh basil leaves a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 2

Line the bottom of a baking dish (you can use a silicone mold) with strips of bacon.

Step 3

Place the peeled and diced pumpkin on top of the bacon.

Step 4

Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with basil.

Step 5

Bake in the oven for 35–40 minutes (baking time may vary depending on the type of pumpkin: if it's a winter variety, bake a bit longer).

Do not turn off the oven.

Let the pumpkin cool slightly.

Step 8

Transfer the pumpkin along with the bacon to a bowl, add sugar, nutmeg, and blend into a puree using a blender.

While continuing to blend, add the eggs, salt, and pepper.

Step 10

Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 40–45 minutes. Serve chilled.
