Tagine with Chicken and Dried Fruits
Ingredients
- Prunes 8 pieces
- Chicken fillet 15 oz
- Dried Apricots 8 pieces
- Toasted Sesame 1 teaspoon
- Salt a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Honey 1 teaspoon
- Onion 1 head
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Saffron a pinch
- Ground Cinnamon a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the meat, cut it into 8 pieces, and season each piece with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Place a skillet over medium heat, add butter, and sauté the meat until golden brown.
Step 3
Wash the onion, peel it, finely chop it, add it to the meat, and mix. Wash the dried fruits and add them to the meat.
Step 4
Pour 3/4 cup of water into the skillet and simmer on low heat covered for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Shell the nuts. Place them in a small skillet and toast over low heat for 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Add the nuts, cinnamon, saffron or cumin, and honey to the skillet with the meat, mix, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Serve the cooked meat with prunes and dried apricots on a plate, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
