Sweet vermicelli with cardamom
Ingredients
- Cardamom Seeds 5 pieces
- Saffron ½ teaspoon
- Ghee 2 tablespoons
- Pistachios 5 oz
- Vermicelli 5 oz
- Sugar 1 cup
- Coconut flakes 2 tablespoons
- Raisins 1 tablespoon
- Almonds 1 tablespoon
- 30% Cream 1 cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Crush the cardamom seeds in a mortar and remove the husks.
Step 2
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, take 1 tablespoon of water and soak the saffron in it. Set aside for a while.
Step 3
Heat the ghee in a deep skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped pistachios, cardamom, and sauté for 1 minute until the aroma of cardamom appears and the pistachios turn golden.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to medium and add the vermicelli. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until the vermicelli turns brown.
Step 5
Lower the heat to low and add the boiling water and saffron. Continue cooking for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vermicelli is soft and the water is absorbed.
Step 6
Add the sugar and cook for another 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
Step 7
Serve warm with coconut, raisins, almonds, whole pistachios, and cream.
