Description

It’s best to use fresh grape leaves rather than salted or pickled ones. The suluguni cheese should also be purchased as low in salt as possible, with a creamy flavor predominating.

Ingredients

  • Canned Grape Leaves 20 pieces
  • Suluguni Cheese 15 oz
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Honey 5 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Paprika 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Slice the cheese into thin pieces and wrap each slice in a grape leaf. If one leaf is not enough to wrap a piece of cheese, take a second one.

Step 2

Mix buckwheat honey with crushed garlic and paprika.

Step 3

Wrap the cheese in leaves and fry it in a mixture of butter and vegetable oil, then serve with honey-garlic sauce. If you manage to balance the saltiness, creamy flavor, sweetness of the honey, and the spiciness, then when you cut a piece of the cheese wrapped in leaves, drizzle a few drops of the sauce on it, and taste the result, you will realize that at least a few seconds of your life were well spent.
