Stewed white bean appetizer with ham, arugula, and crispy toasts

Ingredients

  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Olive Oil ¼ cup
  • Canned Sturgeon in Tomato Sauce 15 oz
  • White Beans 20 oz
  • Chicken Broth 1¾ cups
  • Ham 10 oz
  • Ground Black Pepper ¼ teaspoon
  • Arugula 5 oz
  • French Baguette 8 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the olive oil, reserving 0.5 tablespoons, in a deep skillet over medium heat and sauté the finely chopped garlic for about 1-2 minutes until golden. Add the tomatoes, then the broth, beans, diced ham, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Add the arugula and stir. Cook for another minute.

Step 2

Preheat the grill. Drizzle the baguette pieces with olive oil and toast on both sides until golden brown.

Step 3

Serve the beans with the toasts.
