Description

This pleasant and easy-to-make appetizer is perfect for surprising unexpected guests. An important point: it's better to crush the salt and pepper in a mortar, as the flavor will be better than using fine salt and ground pepper. You can use sea salt or coarse rock salt. Oil can be not only peanut oil but also any neutral vegetable oil.

Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter 10 fl oz
  • Squid 20 oz
  • Ocean salt 2 tablespoons
  • Green peppercorns 2 tablespoons
  • Corn Starch 5 oz
  • Lemon 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the squid into rings; you can leave the tentacles whole. Crush the pepper and salt in a mortar until they become a fine crumb. In a plastic bag or container, mix the cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Add the squid and shake to coat the rings evenly with the mixture.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a pot or deep skillet. Fry the rings for 1 minute until crispy, ensuring the inside remains tender. The specified amount of squid can be fried in about four batches.

Step 3

Place on a plate and drizzle with lemon. Serve immediately.
