Spinach and Onion Dip
Ingredients
- Young Spinach "Belaya Dacha" 10 oz
- Shallot 10 oz
- Onion 10 oz
- Sour Cream 15 oz
- Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Salt ½ spoons
- Ground Black Pepper ¼ spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Chop the onion into small pieces. Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, being careful not to let the oil smoke. Sauté the onion, stirring occasionally, until it turns a light brown color. Then reduce the heat and cook the onion until soft, about eight minutes, stirring less frequently.
Step 2
Add the roughly torn spinach leaves and sauté until wilted. Remove the skillet from the heat, let the spinach-onion mixture cool slightly, transfer it to a bowl, stir in the cream cheese and sour cream, season with salt and pepper, cover the bowl, and let it sit for at least an hour.
