Spicy spaghetti with sardines and chili
Ingredients
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Canned Mackerel in Oil 1 can
- Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
- Breadcrumbs 5 oz
- Spaghetti 5 oz
- Dried Rosemary ½ teaspoon
- Arugula 0 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Toast the breadcrumbs with one finely chopped clove of garlic in half of the oil drained from the sardine can. Once the breadcrumbs and garlic are golden, transfer the mixture to a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Step 2
Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente.
Step 3
Meanwhile, finely chop the deseeded chili and the second clove of garlic. Sauté in the remaining oil from the sardines. Add the sardines, breaking them into small pieces with a fork. Mix well.
Step 4
Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the pan with the sardines. Toss to combine. Add the oregano, and if desired, salt and pepper. Just before serving, add the arugula.
Step 5
Plate the pasta, sprinkle with the crispy garlic breadcrumbs, and get ready to enjoy the spicy and flavorful taste!
