Spicy Grilled Shrimp with Passion Fruit Glaze
Ingredients
- Water 5 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Passion Fruit 0 oz
- Lime Juice 0 fl oz
- Soy Sauce 0 fl oz
- Chili Flakes 0 oz
- Salt 0 oz
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp 32 pieces
- Lime 2 pieces
- Vegetable Oil to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the passion fruit pulp and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let sit for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Strain the marinade through a sieve into a large bowl, pressing the passion fruit pulp slightly, add lime juice, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and salt. Mix well and pour 120 ml of syrup into a cup.
Step 3
Add the shrimp to the bowl with the marinade, mix well, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Preheat the grill.
Step 5
Thread 4 shrimp onto wooden skewers. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2 minutes on each side until done, occasionally brushing with the remaining marinade. Serve on plates and garnish with lime wedges.
