Description

Spicy Chili and Peanut Sauce

Ingredients

  • Canola Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame Seeds 2 tablespoons
  • Dried Arbol Chili Peppers 10 pieces
  • Dried Chili Pepper 1 piece
  • Garlic 8 cloves
  • Onion 1 head
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tablespoon
  • Dried Oregano 1 teaspoon
  • Coarse Salt to taste
  • Roasted Peanuts 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds, all the chili peppers, garlic, and onion; sauté, stirring, until the onion is soft and the sesame seeds are darkened, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature, then transfer to a food processor. Add the vinegar, oregano, and salt; blend until smooth.

Step 2

Place the skillet back on the heat, add the peanuts; roast, swirling the pan, until lightly browned (about 3 minutes).

Step 3

Transfer to the food processor and blend with the other ingredients. Add 1 cup of water and mix until smooth. Transfer to a serving dish and serve.
