Spiced Onions Indian Style

Ingredients

  • Onion 6 heads
  • Natural Yogurt 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable Oil 1 teaspoon
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric ½ teaspoon
  • Ground coriander 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped Sage Leaves to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a bowl, mix ground chili, turmeric, coriander, lemon juice, and salt. Add yogurt and stir until it forms a paste.

Step 2

Cut the small onions in half, then into quarters. Remove some of the outer layers of the onion and spread the spice paste over the pieces.

Step 3

Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add a bit of the paste and sauté for a couple of minutes. Place the onions in the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes until soft. Alternatively, you can bake in a preheated oven at 390°F until soft, about 10 minutes.
