Spiced oatmeal with pecans and orange jam
Ingredients
- Star anise 1 piece
- Ground Oats 0 oz
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Brown Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Speculoos dough 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla Pod 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root 0.1 teaspoons
- Orange zest ½ teaspoon
- Roasted Peanuts to taste
- Orange Syrup 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan along with the sugar, speculoos spice mix, and all the spices (grind the star anise in a mortar; zest the orange without the white pith; split the vanilla pod in half and scrape out the small black seeds). Add the oats to the milk and cook, stirring occasionally, until the desired thickness is reached. Remove from heat, take out the cinnamon stick and vanilla pod, rinse and dry both, and set aside for future use.
Step 2
Serve the oatmeal hot, adding orange jam and roasted pecans to taste.
