Spaghetti with Shrimp in Creamy Tomato Sauce with Garlic Bread Crumbs
Pasta and Pizza • European
Description
The garlic olive oil described in the recipe can be made in larger quantities, as it is wonderful for salads, seafood, or sauces, and stores well in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti 5 oz
- Garlic ½ head
- Cream 5 fl oz
- Shrimp 10 oz
- Paprika ½ teaspoon
- Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
- Curry a pinch
- Basil 0 oz
- Salt to taste
- White Pepper (whole) to taste
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix 1 tablespoon
- Parsley to taste
- French Baguette 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel and finely chop or grate the garlic. Set aside 1 teaspoon of the chopped garlic and mix the rest with olive oil. Add lemon zest, basil, salt, and a pinch of pepper to the olive oil.
Step 2
If the shrimp are frozen, thaw them and dry them thoroughly; otherwise, they will boil instead of frying. Heat the prepared olive oil in a pot, add the shrimp, and sauté for two to three minutes, stirring vigorously until the shrimp turn bright. Remove the pot from heat and cover it to let the shrimp finish cooking.
Step 3
In a proper amount of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti until al dente.
Step 4
While the spaghetti is cooking, prepare the sauce: heat the cream until boiling, add the tomato paste, paprika, curry, salt, and pepper. Cook until smooth and remove from heat.
Step 5
Crush the pieces of toasted baguette into crumbs and mix with the reserved teaspoon of grated garlic.
Step 6
Assemble the pasta on a plate: place the spaghetti, drizzle with sauce, arrange the shrimp, and sprinkle with the bread crumbs. Optionally, you can garnish with finely chopped curly parsley.
