Ingredients
- Lean Beef 20 oz
- Breadcrumbs 0 oz
- Onion 2 pieces
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Worcestershire Sauce 2 teaspoons
- Oregano 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 0 oz
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
- Baking Tomatoes 30 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Sugar 2 teaspoons
- Campbell's Beef Broth 5 fl oz
- Spaghetti 20 oz
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, Worcestershire sauce, and oregano. Season with salt and mix well with your hands. Roll the mixture into balls slightly smaller than a walnut and lightly coat in flour.
Step 2
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet and fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides. Transfer to a paper towel.
Step 3
For the sauce, blend the tomatoes in a blender. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet and sauté the finely chopped onion over medium heat for a few minutes until soft. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Step 4
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, broth, and sugar. Mix well, bring to a boil, and add the meatballs. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, turning the balls once. Season with salt.
Step 5
Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water. Drain and serve on separate plates. Top with the meatballs in sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
