Description

Spaghetti in tomato sauce with meatballs

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti 15 oz
  • Lean Beef 20 oz
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Garlic 4 cloves
  • Ground Breadcrumbs 1 tablespoon
  • Tomatoes 5 pieces
  • Oregano 1 tablespoon
  • Olive Oil 3 spoons
  • Passata Tomato Sauce 2 spoons
  • Pitted olives ½ cans
  • Fresh basil leaves 0 oz
  • Pickled capers 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine the meat, crushed breadcrumbs, one finely chopped onion, two crushed garlic cloves, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix the resulting filling with your hands and form small balls, slightly smaller than a walnut.

Step 2

In heated olive oil, fry the meatballs on all sides and place them on a plate, allowing any excess oil to drain off.

Step 3

Chop the tomatoes for the tomato sauce in a blender. Sauté the second finely chopped onion until golden brown, then add garlic, the pureed tomatoes, and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and add the meatballs. Season with salt and simmer the meatballs for another 10 minutes, reducing the heat beforehand. Finally, add olives and capers.

Step 4

Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water.

Step 5

Serve the spaghetti on a plate and drizzle with the tomato sauce and meatballs. If desired, sprinkle with oregano or crushed basil.
