Description

Spaghetti in Creamy Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti 10 oz
  • Potato protein 1 teaspoon
  • Cheese Spread 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • 10% cream 5 fl oz
  • Ground Black Pepper a pinch

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cook the spaghetti in salted water until slightly undercooked.

Step 2

Drain the water, leaving 3/4 cup (180 ml) of liquid for the sauce (I recommend keeping the water in the pot to prevent the spaghetti from sticking together or adding a little bit of butter).

Step 3

Take a medium saucepan, add 120 ml (1/2 cup) of low-fat cream and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 4

In a small bowl, carefully mix 1 teaspoon of potato starch with the remaining cream and add this mixture to the sauce (do not add all the starch at once, but gradually to avoid lumps).

Step 5

Continue boiling, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens. Then pour in the reserved water and mix.

Step 6

Add a little ground black pepper to taste and continue to cook the sauce, stirring constantly, for one minute.

Step 7

Remove the saucepan from heat, grate the cheese finely, and add it to the hot sauce. Stir until the cheese melts.

Step 8

Place the spaghetti on a plate and pour the sauce over it, sprinkling a little cheese on top.
