Spaghetti in Cream Sauce with Pesto and Bacon
Pasta and Pizza • Italian
Description
You can use any type of pasta, but it should be made from durum wheat. Instead of Parmesan, you can use Pecorino Romano (or any other hard cheese). It's best to use cream specifically for sauces, as regular cream may curdle.
Ingredients
- Durum wheat 10 oz
- Cream 22% 5 fl oz
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Bacon 5 oz
- Pesto 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the spaghetti in lightly salted water. Don't add too much salt, as the bacon is salty enough.
Step 2
Meanwhile, finely chop the bacon and fry it over low heat. No oil is needed for frying.
Step 3
Once the bacon is browned, add the cream and pesto. Mix everything and keep it on the lowest heat so the cream thickens slightly.
Step 4
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions, drain the water, and place it on a serving dish.
Step 5
Add the resulting sauce to the spaghetti, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and black pepper.
