Shrimp in Orange Glaze and Sesame
Ingredients
- Egg white 2 pieces
- Corn Starch ¼ cup
- Toasted Sesame ¼ cup
- Coarse Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp 25 oz
- Orange juice concentrate 1 cup
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil ¼ cup
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Green onion tops 4 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, whisk the egg whites, cornstarch, sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoons of pepper. Add the peeled shrimp and mix well.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the shrimp in batches until cooked and golden, about 3 minutes on each side. Transfer to a paper towel, then to a plate.
Step 3
Wipe the skillet with a paper towel and pour in the orange juice and soy sauce, add the sugar, and cook over high heat until reduced to 0.3 cup and the sauce thickens, about 4–5 minutes.
Step 4
Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the chopped green onion tops, and cook, stirring, for another 1 minute.
