Shrimp cocktail with spicy garlic-lime sauce and grapefruit
Ingredients
- Chopped Green Onions 6 tablespoons
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Mayonnaise 10 oz
- Lime Juice 2 tablespoons
- Apricot Jam 2 teaspoons
- Mild Chili Spice 1 piece
- Coarse Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp 30 oz
- Grapefruits 2 pieces
- Green Papaya ½ piece
- Fennel 2 pieces
- Eel 2 pieces
- Lime ½ piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a blender, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, cilantro, lime juice, jam, and the deseeded and finely chopped chili. Blend until smooth, season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate.
Step 2
Peel the shrimp and add them to the sauce. Mix well.
Step 3
Peel the grapefruits and carefully cut out the segments. Thinly slice half of a small head of cabbage. Cut the fennel into 4 parts and slice it thinly as well. Thinly slice the lettuce.
Step 4
Gently break apart the grapefruit segments and add them to the shrimp. Mix carefully.
Step 5
In a separate bowl, combine the cabbage, fennel, and lettuce. Divide into serving dishes.
Step 6
Top the salad with the shrimp mixture and garnish with lime slices.
